1990s All-Decade Team

  • Steve Wisniewski – Offensive Lineman 1989-2001 Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders
  • Jerry Rice – Wide Receiver, 2001-04 Oakland Raiders
  • Tim Brown – Wide Receiver,1988-2003 Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders
  • Warren Sapp – Defensive Lineman, 2004-07 Oakland Raiders
  • Rod Woodson – Defensive Back, 2002-03 Oakland Raiders
  • Ronnie Lott – Defensive Back,1991-92 Los Angeles Raiders

The 1990s were a largely forgettable decade for the organization as they made the playoffs three times but did not advance to the Super Bowl as they had in the past three decades going all the way back to the 1967 season. The decade started well as the Raiders’ three playoff appearances all came from 1990-93 but after losing to the Buffalo Bills in the 1993 Divisional Round, the rest of the decade was mediocre at best.

From the 1994-99 the Silver and Black went 44-52 and were it not for the 12-4 season in 1990 would have been under .500 for the decade. Despite the team’s struggles they still had individually talented players like Tim Brown and Steve Wisniewski who were among the best players in the NFL with 15 Pro Bowl appearances between them during the decade.

Several other Hall of Famers such as Eric Dickerson and Ronnie Lott made pit stops with the Raiders during the ‘90s but only two players who spent the majority of their careers in LA/Oakland made the Hall of Fame in Brown and Wisniewski.
