Raiders have cornerback options in 2020 NFL Draft that fit their scheme

The Las Vegas Raiders have a serious need at cornerback heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, and we take a look at some prospects who fit their scheme.

With the news that cornerback Eli Apple couldn’t come to agreement on a contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, the cornerback position has become an obvious draft target and is among the biggest needs given the current state of the roster. The Raiders were rumored to be interested in several cornerback targets through free agency, but came away with none.

The linebacker and Safety position were addressed this off-season, but the cornerback position doesn’t seem to be so sure at the moment. Rookie Trayvon Mullen came on like gangbusters in 2019, leading the position group, but the rest of the unit had inconsistent and/or uninspiring play.

Many predict that Mike Mayock will use one of his two first round selections on a cornerback, and there are options there. In addition, there are options in the middle rounds, so however the front office waits to address the position, they should at least be able to get one guy that can come in and help the unit immediately.
