Which top-ranked wide receiver should the Las Vegas Raiders select?

Henry Ruggs III, Alabama

Henry Ruggs III is a legitimate freak. In the combine, back in February of this year, Ruggs torched the field in the 40-yard dash, posting a 4.27 second time. Ruggs spent most of his high school career dunking on his competition, both in football and basketball.

Regardless of the sport he is playing, or the level at which he is playing, there is a strong chance that Ruggs will be the most athletic guy on the field, court, etc.

Ruggs is not just another combine-king, though. Unlike John Ross, J.J. Nelson, Darius Heyward-Bey, the list goes on and on, Henry Ruggs III is so much more than just speed. He is a polished route-runner, has good size at 5-foot-11 and 188 lbs, and is incredibly competitive.

Ruggs is an Al Davis prototype.

What separates Ruggs from past speedsters that have disappointed in the NFL is that he knows how to use his speed. He can start and stop on a dime, and finishes plays at will. In his Alabama days, he turned 98 receptions into 24 touchdowns.

He scored a touchdown on a quarter of his catches. That is absurd.

Ruggs has all of the physical tools to become an all-time great wide receiver. He also seems to have the drive, will, and competitiveness to go with it. Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock have been watching Tyreek Hill torch them for the last two seasons, they just might want one of their own. Minus the off-field issues, that is.
