Zack Moss, Utah

Coming in at 5’10” 220 lbs, Utah running back Zack Moss would be a great addition in the third round to compliment Jacobs, and is my No. 1 guy of potential picks they could look to target. He wasn’t ask to do a lot on the creative side in 2019 with the Utes, but was a beacon of consistency and reliability for Utah’s offense.

What I like most about Moss is he is very similar to Jacobs, just not as fast. They are nearly identical in size and for a bulkier back, Moss is deceivingly shifty and is good at anticipating his running lanes.

He can make you miss by changing direction quickly with his one or two cut moves and can run you over with his bowling ball type frame.

Bringing in someone like Moss if given the opportunity would allow the Raiders to have very little drop off when needing to give Jacobs a rest, or in an injury situation like we saw last year. His play style and size would allow them to continue to run the scheme drawn up for Jacobs and transition to fresh legs seamlessly.

He isn’t going to outrun a defense, but with Moss’ reliably with the ball in his hands, and ability to be effective in the pass game with screens and checkdowns, he would make the perfect complimentary back to an already rising ground game.
