Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU

Jeff Gladney has been all over the place on positional rankings and mock drafts, and it is hard to get a feel of when he will be drafted. The Raiders will likely take a cornerback in the first round, especially after Eli Apple decided not to sign with the team.

Gladney was able to face off against some of the better receivers in this draft class last season, and one game that comes to mind is Baylor vs TCU. In that game, Denzel Mims, Baylor’s WR1, recorded two touchdowns against TCU, and Mims himself is considered a borderline first round pick.

Finally, he does not have great size to play on the outside, and being able to guard big receivers could be an issue. Gladney strikes me as a raw talent, something I do not think the Raiders should go after right now, as they have been building up this roster to win-now.
