Las Vegas Raiders 2020 pre-draft position overview: Wide Receiver

The Las Vegas Raiders have a need at wide receiver heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, and we take a look at the position group heading into Thursday.

Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders have a need at wide receiver, something they will likely address early in the draft. The Raiders wide receiver group was not what it was supposed to be in 2019, as everyone knows about the entire Antonio Brown situation. For that reason, Tyrell Williams was expected to take the role as WR1.

Although Williams played well, it became clear that he was not exactly what the Raiders were looking for, as he had a bit of a drop problem, and injuries did not help. He recorded six touchdowns and 651 yards on the season.

One of the bright spots for the Raiders receiving group was rookie Hunter Renfrow, who came up huge for the team on third downs, was a reliable target for Derek Carr, and turned it on late in the season when he came back from injury. Renfrow should be the Raiders slot receiver of the future.

Other receivers such as Zay Jones, who has been putting in a lot of work with Derek Carr lately, Keelan Doss, Marcell Ateman, and Rico Gafford will likely be battling for a spot on the team as well.
