Las Vegas Raiders 2020 NFL Draft prospect profile: Patrick Queen
The Las Vegas Raiders probably will not select a linebacker in the 2020 NFL Draft’s first round after free agency, but Patrick Queen may intrigue them
As we discussed yesterday in the prospect profile for Oklahoma Sooner Kenneth Murray, the Las Vegas Raiders are sitting pretty at the linebacker position after their spending spree in free agency. A starting trio of Cory Littleton, Nick Kwiatkoski, and Nicholas Morrow is well above average and one could argue it may be the best in the division.
However as mentioned yesterday, the Raiders have been taking a different approach in recent drafts and not drafting solely on need, so a linebacker could still be on the cards in the first round. That linebacker could very well be LSU’s Patrick Queen.
Queen came off the high of winning the 2019 CFP National Championship and declared for the NFL Draft after his junior season. His performance in 2019 and numbers at the combine have solidified him as a first round prospect with most mocks having him selected in the 20s. The Raiders currently own the 12th and 19th picks so if they do trade down to later in the first, Queen could be sitting there waiting for them.
Let’s take a look at what makes Patrick Queen worthy of that first round grade and how he would fit with the Las Vegas Raiders.
