The Las Vegas Raiders selected Henry Ruggs III with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and here is how the Twitter world reacted.

Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, it was clear that the Las Vegas Raiders needed help at the wide receiver position. Sitting at pick No. 12, they had their choice of wideouts, as not one was off the board, which was surprising considering how good this draft class is at the position.

With Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb, as well as Alabama’s Henry Ruggs III and Jerry Jeudy still available, the Raiders went with Ruggs, which was a bit shocking. The talk around the team all week was how much Mike Mayock loved Lamb, but seeing Jon Gruden so excited prior to the pick, it became clear the choice was Ruggs.

In Ruggs, the Raiders get an absolute rocket at the wide receiver position, and someone who is so much more than just a burner. He runs the entire route tree, is a touchdown machine, and should be able to take the lid off the defense at the next level.

The sports world was a bit shocked by the selection of Ruggs at No. 12, and here is how Twitter reacted.

Of course, we had to have some Frank Caliendo on draft night doing his Gruden impression.

Adam Schefter got this take correct, Al Davis would have loved this pick.

The kid is a class act, and will fit the new culture with the Raiders perfectly.

Henry Ruggs III can take the lid off a defense at any moment.

Roger Goodell with the announcement.

With the first round in the rearview mirror, the attention turns to Friday night, where the Raiders will hold three third round picks. Ruggs is going to be another dangerous talent on the offensive side of the ball for the Raiders, and by joining the Silver and Black, he joins former Alabama teammate Josh Jacobs as weapons for Derek Carr.
