The Las Vegas Raiders kicked off their third round by selecting Lynn Bowden Jr. of Kentucky, and we dive into who he is, and the fit.
Having parted with their 2020 second round pick in the Khalil Mack trade from two seasons ago, the Las Vegas Raiders had to sit tight for a while before making the first of their three third round picks. When it finally came time for the Raiders to pick, there was plenty of talent left on the board, and they got quite the versatile weapon with the selection.
Already adding a deep threat at wide receiver in Henry Ruggs III, and a tough, physical corner in Damon Arnette in round one, Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden selected offensive weapon Lynn Bowden Jr. from Kentucky with the 80th overall pick. Adding another wideout made a lot of sense, and in Bowden, they are getting a special talent.
Gruden continues to keep the fan base on their toes with yet another surprise selection, something that has become a thing since he returned to the team. Bowden is an interesting football player to say the least, having lined up at wide receiver and quarterback in three years at Memphis.
He may not be a household name so let’s take a closer look at what he does well and how he will fit in with the Raiders offense.
