Who is Lynn Bowden Jr. and how does he fit with the Las Vegas Raiders?

Who is Lynn Bowden Jr.?

Bottom line, Lynn Bowden Jr is a football player that can be utilized in a variety of ways.  Think Taysom Hill. Bowden grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and was a four-star recruit of out high school.  He fielded offers from several power five schools including Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, and Ohio State.

A dual-threat high school quarterback, once Bowden arrived in Kentucky, he made the transition to wide receiver.  In his sophomore season, Bowden led the team in receiving with 67 catches for 745 yards and five touchdowns.

In 2019, in the first five games, Bowden was off to a good start as a receiver catching 30 balls for 348 yards and a touchdown. Due to injuries, in the final eight games he was moved to quarterback and led the Wildcats to a 6-2 record.

Once in the backfield, Bowden flourished.  He was used primarily as a running quarterback, in fact he rushed for a ridiculous 1,369 yards and 13 touchdowns in only eight games.  Three times Bowden went over 200 plus yards, including 284 yards against Louisville.

Bowden is an explosive athlete, as he was named the Paul Hornung Award winner which goes to the Nation’s most versatile player.  In addition to that, he was a first team All-Sec, and first team All-American.
