How he fits with the Las Vegas Raiders

At South Carolina , Edwards was used effectively in the slant and screen game, on short crossers, and down field throws due to his physical nature and ball skills. I expect that to be a part of the way Gruden uses him as well in the pros.

With the Raiders, he will compete with Tyrell Williams for the X receiver position on the outside.  I think he will be used best with the Raiders on throws over the middle where he can make catches in traffic and on jump balls, where he can dominant smaller defenders with his size and physical nature.

Edwards, like Lynn Bowden Jr., the man selected before him, is very good with the ball in his hands, running in the open field, and is a load to take down. Early in his career he could become a top option in the red zone on fade routes, similar to how Michael Crabtree was used.

If he can stay healthy, I can envision him really giving Tyrell Williams a run for his money for reps on the outside.
