The Las Vegas Raiders added a wide receiver and cornerback on Day 1 of the NFL Draft, so where will they be picking on day two?
The Las Vegas Raiders don’t currently hold a draft pick in the second round as that selection was sent to the Chicago Bears during the Khalil Mack trade. However, they do have the ammunition to move up if they eye a prospect they highly covet, as they hold three third-round selections and a fourth-rounder.
After selecting Henry Ruggs III and Damon Arnette in round one, they are likely to shift their attention towards adding a linebacker, running back or another wide receiver, though cornerback could be on the board as well.
Mike Mayock told the media after round one came to a close, the Raiders did not initiate any trade calls but did receive a bunch of them. He added they probably could’ve traded down from No.19 but stayed put to ensure they get their guy.
Last year, Mayock was very active in trading up and down throughout the mid-rounds so you could see some similar movement in his second go-around as general manager after having success last year. With the Raiders first pick on day two set to come at 80th overall, they’ll have to wait for 48 selections to go by before they’re on the clock again.
Here is the complete list of Day 2 picks
- Round 3, Pick No. 80
- Round 3, Pick No. 81 (From Chicago Bears)
- Round 3, Pick No. 91 (From Houston Texans)
With needs still looming across the Raiders roster, it’s possible they work the phone lines and sneak into the second round. There are many intriguing players still available, including some that draft experts thought would hear their name called in round one.
