The Las Vegas Raiders planned to address the wide receiver spot in the 2020 NFL Draft, and they grabbed a second selection in Lynn Bowden Jr. at pick No. 80.

The Las Vegas Raiders added a player on each side of the ball on day one of the 2020 NFL Draft. With their first pick on day two, they got back into the wide receiver market, adding another pass catcher for quarterback Derek Carr, who is much more than just a wideout.

With the 80th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders selected Lynn Bowden Jr. out of the University of Kentucky, and in Bowden, they are getting a player who can impact a game in so many ways.

Bowden is the most versatile player in the 2020 draft class, as he’s taken snaps at quarterback, running back and wide receiver during his time in the college ranks. With the Raiders having to catch the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West, having a surplus of skill position players is much needed, and that was certainly a goal of the team so far in this draft.

Bowden is likely to be used in a large variety of ways whether that’s a part of the screen game, end-around or running your prototypical route tree. He’ll present an unknown every time he lines up, similar to what the New Orleans Saints’ Taysom Hill brings to the table.

Bowden’s final season at Kentucky totaled 185 rushing attempts for 1,468 yards and 13 touchdowns. Meanwhile, in the passing game, he hauled in 30 catches for and 348 yards and one touchdown.

The Raiders are not done selecting tonight, and with the No. 81 pick, they continued to add to the wide receiver room in South Carolina standout Bryan Edwards. One thing is for sure, they are putting Carr in position to dominate in 2020, and if he doesn’t, he could be gone in 2021.
