Mike Panasiuk

With Johnathan Hankins and Maliek Collins entering contract years, I was a little surprised to see Gruden and Mayock steer clear of adding a defensive tackle in the middle rounds of the draft. Nonetheless, they addressed the position by signing Michigan State’s Mike Panasiuk.

At 6’4″ 300 pounds, Panasiuk possess the ideal size for an NFL defensive lineman, and he was a force as a run defender in East Lansing racking up 95 total tackles and 19 tackles for loss in college. This past season was the former Spartan’s best as he had ten tackles for loss, three sacks, and earned second-team All-Big 10 honors from pro football focus.

He also managed to haul in two interceptions and had four passes defended for MSU, pretty impressive for a defensive tackle. He does need to work on his pass rush, but when it comes to being a big body in the middle of the defensive line, he has a lot to offer.

Here’s what Ben Solak of The Draft Network has to say about Panasiuk.
