Special Teams and Summary

The Raiders thought they had their answer in 2018 at kicker with Daniel Carlson, who was almost automatic after he was brought over from the Minnesota Vikings. Carlson struggled in 2019, but he is the guy heading into camp, and A.J. Cole will return as the punter.

Kicker: Daniel Carlson

Daniel Carlson showed glimpses of being a good kicker in his first year with the team in 2018, but overall missed too much last year. As of now, he is the starter going into 2020, but you have to think that the organization is going to bring in competition, as we saw with them signing UDFA Dominik Eberle.

Punter: AJ Cole

AJ Cole returns as the Raiders punter in 2020 with no indications that he will lose the job. Cole was brought in as an undrafted free agent last season, and filled a big weakness on the Raiders roster, stealing the job from Johnny Townsend and becoming a steady punter.

Overall, this is a Raiders roster that is much-improved over last season, and Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden did a great job adding talent where there was need. We will see if they can compete with the Super Bowl champion Chiefs in 2020, but one thing is for sure, they have built up a roster of players that gives them a chance to.
