Toughest stretch of the Las Vegas Raiders 2020 schedule
Week 4 – Raiders vs Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills featured the second-best defense in the NFL, and they rode that along with a potent running game to the playoffs in 2019. They finished 10-6 which was the franchise’s best record since 1999 but 11-5 was on the cards were it not for a meaningless Week 17 matchup with the New York Jets.
Now with Tom Brady out of the AFC East and the addition of some new weapons on offense, most notably Stefon Diggs, the Bills will have their eyes on the AFC East crown. If they succeed it will be the first division title since 1995, ending one of the longest droughts in NFL history.
As the Bills are a conference opponent and one of the better teams in the AFC, this will be a date the Raiders have circled as a must-win game and a must-have for a possible wild card spot. The Bills defense will be the Raiders’ primary concern but young QB Josh Allen has shown he can win games as he lead them to four fourth quarter comebacks in 2019.
He is not the most accurate passer but has a big arm and can make plays with his legs, already rushing for 1,141 yards in just 27 starts.
The Raiders have had mixed success facing the Bills recently, going 2-1 against them since Derek Carr became the starting QB in 2014. In that time the Bills have made the playoffs twice and are now one of the up and coming teams in the AFC, especially if Josh Allen can make the leap in the passing game. Similar to the Patriots game, the Raiders are lucky to have this matchup take place in sunny Las Vegas rather than during a brutal Buffalo winter.
