Las Vegas Raiders 2020 game-by-game prediction
By Matt Holder
Week 1: Las Vegas Raiders at Carolina Panthers
The Raiders will kick off the 2020 season down south against the Panthers and their new head coach, Matt Rhule. After finishing last season 5-11 with a defense that allowed the second-most points per game (29.4), Carolina appears to be in rebuilding mode. That should work in Las Vegas’ favor, and as long as new addition Cory Littleton can hold his own against Christian McCaffrey, the Silver and Black should have no problem starting the year with a W.
Week 2: New Orleans Saints at Las Vegas Raiders
What better way to open up a new stadium than on Monday Night Football? Las Vegas should have plenty of momentum heading into the first game in their new state, however, their opponent presents a handful of challenges. New Orleans has one of the most complete rosters in the league, including a future Hall of Famer at quarterback in Drew Brees, which could make for a rough debut in Allegiant Stadium.
Week 3: Las Vegas Raiders at New England Patriots
For the first time in about 20 years, the Patriots are arguably the biggest wild card in the NFL. Tom Brady is out and Jarrett Stidham is in, so this season will be Bill Belichick’s toughest test since he took over as head coach in 2000. The Hoodie is one of the best coaches of all-time, but the roster lacks talent which will be difficult for him to overcome, especially early in the year.
Week 4: Buffalo Bills at Las Vegas Raiders
If any team is going to dethrone New England in the AFC East, its Buffalo. The Bills have an outstanding defense that allowed the second-fewest points per game a year ago (16.2) and added Stefon Diggs to help emerging quarterback Josh Allen. Unfortunately, this could mean the Silver and Black have a rough start in Las Vegas.
