Looking ahead to 2020

In the last seven games of the 2019 term, the Raiders averaged 15 points and gave up 34-plus points in three of those meetings. Critics will spread the blame, and apologists may point to the injuries/suspension as excuses, but moving forward, the Raiders have more reasons to perform at an optimal level through a complete term.

Without splurging during free agency or accumulating a surplus of draft picks, the Raiders addressed the shallow spots on the back end of the depth chart. The acquisitions provide experience, versatility and game-ready skills to contribute this season.

Furthermore, the Silver and Black will play three consecutive home games in December between Weeks 14 and 16.

With the added talent and the electric atmosphere at Allegiant Stadium, assuming fans could attend, the Raiders’ late-season run in 2020 is set up for a much better finish than their 1-5 stretch in 2019. Mayock and Gruden added solutions during the offseason, so we won’t have to talk about excuses in December.
