The Las Vegas Raiders welcome the Buffalo Bills to Allegiant Stadium in Week 3, here’s everything you need to know about the AFC East contenders.
After their second east coast trip in three weeks to face the New England Patriots, the Las Vegas Raiders return home to square up against another AFC East foe in the Buffalo Bills. With the departure of Tom Brady to Tampa Bay and the Bills having a strong 2019 season, the AFC East is officially up for grabs according to the oddsmakers.
The Bills were in contention for the AFC East crown in 2019 but fell short against the Patriots in their two meetings which pushed them in to the first wild card spot. Sean McDermott’s squad rode an old school combination of a punishing defense that was top three in points and yards given up and a top-10 rushing offense to a 10-6 record, the franchise’s best since 1999.
Their season was ended on Wild Card Weekend in Houston as they fell short in overtime against Deshaun Watson and the Texans. It was a bizarre game that showed the inexperience of QB Josh Allen but gave the Bills hope that they could build on for the 2020 season.
Allen made some major strides from his rookie season, improving in every statistical category and showing the potential that saw him drafted seventh overall. Allen still struggles with accuracy but his dual-threat ability and willingness to throw his 6’5” 240lb frame around make him a dangerous player to defend.
The Bills will be looking to take advantage of the potential void at QB in New England to capture their first division title since 1995 and they will be raring to go against an old AFL rival in the Raiders.
