6 Raiders players who deserved to win a Super Bowl
Terry McDaniel, Cornerback, 1988-1997
After an All-SEC career at Tennessee, the Los Angeles Raiders made Terry McDaniel the No. 9 overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft. Playing all but one season with the Raiders, McDaniel would become a ballhawk in the team’s secondary, finishing his career behind only Willie Brown and Lester Hayes in terms of interceptions in team history.
From 1992 through 1995, McDaniel was one of the best in the game, being named an All-Pro four straight seasons, and a Pro Bowler from 1992 through 1996. Not only was he a ballhawking corner who could get his hands on the ball, he also knew what to do with the ball when he got it, as he is No. 1 all-time in Raiders history in interceptions returned for a touchdown.
McDaniel played in the playoffs three times in his career, including the 1990 NFL season, where the Raiders made it all the way to the AFC title game. For a time, he was one of the more elite shutdown cornerbacks in the NFL, and it would have been nice to see him hoist a Lombardi Trophy.
