Heading into the 2020 season, there will be a handful of assistant coaches looking to prove themselves with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The phrase “football is a what have you done for me lately business,” is often applied to players, however, the saying holds true for the guys calling the shots as well. While the Las Vegas Raiders maintained the majority of its coaching staff from last year, there are still a handful of assistants with something to prove heading into 2020.

In a league where every player is talented, coaching makes a big difference. It’s what separates the good teams from the average ones, and plays a big factor in the development of young players. After finishing a game below .500 a year ago, and with a roster that will be filled with first– and second-year players at key positions this year, the upcoming campaign will shine some light on how effective the Raiders’ coaching staff is.

Here I take a look at a few coaches who will be under the microscope this season. For some, success will be defined by what displays on the scoreboard, and for others, they’ll be judged on their ability to get results out of the young talent mentioned above.
