Additions and Subtractions for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
So many great QBs have ended their careers on different teams than the ones they built their legacy with and the results have varied greatly. Tom Brady decided to swap Patriots blue for Bucs pewter and the question is will his stint in Tampa Bay be like Peyton Manning’s in Denver or Johnny Unitas’s in San Diego?
In addition to Brady, the Bucs traded a fourth-round draft pick for TE Rob Gronkowski who was most recently retired and wrestling in the WWE. The Brady-Gronk connection is among the most prolific in NFL history and adds yet another weapon to the already impressive arsenal at Bruce Arians’s disposal.
They are not new additions but the Bucs did well to hang on to their defensive line by re-signing Ndamukong Suh and Jason Pierre-Paul and franchise tagging Shaquil Barrett. They have talent up and down the roster and now have the GOAT quarterback to steer the ship.
The only notable departure on offense is RB Peyton Barber who was second on the team in rushing but they have high hopes for Ronald Jones and Dare Ogunbowale to carry the load. On defense the primary departure is DE Carl Nassib who was third on the team with 6 sacks and will now be plying his trade with the Silver and Black.
