2020 Las Vegas Raiders 53-man roster projection entering summer
Quarterbacks (3): Derek Carr, Marcus Mariota, Nathan Peterman
There is a chance that the :as Vegas Raiders use three quarterbacks like last year, but for the first time since Coach Jon Gruden’s return to the Raiders, he has a clear QB2. The Raiders signed Marcus Mariota to a team-friendly deal to be the backup in 2020, though, if he plays, he could make a lot of money.
Derek Carr enters his seventh season as the team’s starter, and will be the unquestioned leader entering the 2020 campaign. While Mariota may push him this summer, Carr will go into the year as the starter, but if he falters, at least there is a guy who has won games at the NFL level behind him.
Most teams do not carry three quarterbacks on the active roster, and with how much talent the Raiders have brought in on offense, they may not keep Nathan Peterman on the roster. With that being said, Gruden has kept Peterman around for a reason, and there is a chance he has a plan for him in the future.
