With 87 days until the opening game of 2020, we start the count down with the best Raiders player at every jersey number. Today we focus on No. 87.

With the season a few months away, we take a look at the best player to wear the jersey number of the number of days left before the opener on September 13, 2020 against the Carolina Panthers. That game will kick off the new era of Raiders football.

We continue our series with No. 87.

The Raiders have had a few solid players don the No. 87 during their NFL career, including Raymond Chester, who was our top guy to wear No. 88 in the history of the franchise. Chester began his NFL career by going to three straight Pro Bowls wearing No. 87 for the Raiders, before leaving, and returning wearing No. 88.

In addition, Jared Cook had some solid seasons in the Silver and Black, twice leading the team in receiving from his tight end position. Current No. 87, Foster Moreau, showed as a rookie he has a knack for making big plays in the passing game, and will be a threat in the red zone moving forward.

However, our top Raider to wear the No. 87 was affectionately referred to as “the Ghost,” and was a part of some of the biggest plays in team, and NFL history.
