Las Vegas Raiders: 4 most exciting storylines heading into 2020

Raiders getting at least 4 primetime games

After a difficult 2018 season the NFL schedule makers gave the 2019 Raiders only two primetime games, the second game of the Monday Night Football doubleheader in Week 1 and the obligatory Thursday Night Football matchup with the LA Chargers.

Things have taken a sharp turn upwards for the Raiders in 2020 and the NFL has chosen the Silver and Black for at least four primetime games. The Week 16 matchup with the Miami Dolphins is marked as TBD on the schedule and could be flexed in to the Sunday night slot.

This increase in primetime games is due to two factors, the NFL’s desire to showcase the Raiders’ new home in Las Vegas as all four of their primetime matchups are at home and the team’s increase in star power. Josh Jacobs is a bonafide star and is already in nationwide advertising campaigns, Maxx Crosby is a budding star on defense, the cameras have always loved Jon Gruden, and the offense has all the makings of a powerhouse.

More eyes will be on the Raiders than they have in several seasons and with increased attention comes increased pressure and expectations. An increase in primetime games is no guarantee that the Raiders will have a successful 2020 season but if everything comes together for the Silver and Black, the whole country will be able to see it unfold under the spotlight of NFL primetime.
