Las Vegas Raiders need Carl Nassib to bring the pressure in 2020
By Brad Weiss
Carl Nassib signed a three-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason, and he will be crucial to expanding the team’s pass rush in 2020.
During the 2019 NFL Draft, the then-Oakland Raiders selected Clelin Ferrell with the No. 4 overall pick, bringing in the national champion from the Clemson Tigers. As a rookie, Ferrell played out of position early on, and had to deal with a sickness, but he came back strong to finish his rookie season on a high note.
In the fourth round, the Raiders added Maxx Crosby from Eastern Michigan, and once he cracked the starting lineup, he became one of the better rookie defenders in football. The crazy man racked up ten sacks in ten starts, and made a serious run towards being the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year.
As a tandem, the two give the Raiders a tremendously talented young duo at defensive end, and help make up for the fact that Arden Key still has yet to put it together in his three seasons in the league. They enter the 2020 NFL season as the starters on a defensive line that made a big step forward last season, and have a new defensive line coach to impress this summer.
In addition to Ferrell, Crosby, and Key, the Raiders will also have former Tampa Bay Buccaneers edge rusher Carl Nassib in the fold, and he is going to be crucial in the Raiders plan to get pressure this season.
