Las Vegas Raiders go defense early in 7-round 2021 mock draft
The secondary has been a bleak spot for quite some time for the Raiders, but they have done a nice job building up both cornerback, and safety via the NFL Draft. There is some promise, especially with the recent investment of picks, and the hope is Johnathan Abram comes back strong at safety after missing nearly his entire rookie season due to injury.
Even with the recent additions, it is still a very young and inexperienced group. Enter Hamsah Nasirildeen, the 6-foot-4, 212-pound safety out of Florida State who could have the same kind of impact at the next level as fellow Seminole, Derwin James.
Nasirildeen is a tackling machine who can lineup all over the field, and if he is around at this point he can shore up the mishaps of the secondary from day one. With Trayvon Mullen, Damon Arnette, and Amik Robertson at corner, and Abram and Nasirildeen at safety, this would be a young secondary filled with Alphas.
