The Las Vegas Raiders have solid depth heading into the 2020 NFL season, but here are five guys they cannot afford to lose to injury.
The Las Vegas Raiders head into the 2020 season with the playoffs in their sights after winning seven games in their final season in Oakland. In fact, standing at 6-4, the Raiders looked like they would be a playoff team last season, but a 1-5 finish ruined their chances of leaving the Bay Area with only their second playoff appearance since 2003.
As we turn the page to a new era of Raiders football, we dive into the current roster, and which players the team cannot afford to lose to injury in 2020.
Maxx Crosby, Defensive End
Coming off a stellar rookie season, Maxx Crosby goes into the 2020 campaign looking to become one of the premier edge rushers in football. Crosby notched ten sacks in only ten starts last season, and will be expected to lead a group of defensive ends that have some question marks.
Clelin Ferrell played well down the stretch, and he will start alongside of Crosby, and the Raiders have a solid third option in Carl Nassib, who came over in free agency. Arden Key is still a Wildcard entering Year 3, and there is not much after him, so Crosby’s health is key if the Raiders are going to continue to improve their pass rush.
