6 players the Raiders can’t afford to lose to injury in 2020
Josh Jacobs, Running Back
The Las Vegas Raiders are blessed with having one of the better young running backs in football in Josh Jacobs, who is coming off a record-breaking rookie season. In 13 starts last season, Jacobs became the first rookie Raiders running back to rush for over 1,000 yards, and he did most of his damage with a fractured shoulder.
Heading into 2020, the Raiders have some nice complimentary pieces behind Jacobs in Jalen Richard and Lynn Bowden Jr. Unfortunately, neither of those two guys run with the kind of power that Jacobs does, so if he does go down to injury, it is going to be very hard to replace the kind of impact he can have.
Jacobs played through pain in 2019, so we know he has that kind of mentality in him, but this Raiders offense cannot afford to lose him for an extended period of time. If he stays healthy, he has a legitimate shot to win the rushing title, but if he goes down, the Raiders will struggle to get those tough yards inside.
