Las Vegas Raiders still have options at cornerback via free agency

Darqueze Dennard

During his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, Darqueze Dennard has had to battle with the aforementioned Dre Kirkpatrick almost every year for a starting job. A Jim Thorpe award winner at Michigan State, Dennard was a first round pick of the Bengals back in 2014, and has be in and out of the starting lineup for Cincy since.

Throughout his career, Dennard has had to battle through some injuries, and like Kirkpatrick, has familiarity with current Raiders defensive coordinator Paul Guenther. One area that the Raiders struggled in was in the slot last season, and in Dennard, they could add a guy who was one of the best in the game in that role recently.

Lamarcus Joyner was brought in to fill the slot role, and he struggled mightily last season, so much that the Raiders drafted Amik Robertson this April. Dennard allowed an NFL-low 48.6 completion percentage last season, and based on his pass breakup ratio, the Raiders should at least take a look at him.
