The Las Vegas Raiders have solid depth in their secondary heading into the summer, and there are going to be some solid camp battles this summer.

Since becoming the general manager of the Raiders franchise, Mike Mayock has made a concerted effort to get better in the secondary. From using first round picks, to bringing in veterans via free agency, Mayock has done his best to revamp a group that has been an Achilles Heel for the franchise for a while now.

In 2019, he drafted Mississippi State safety Johnathan Abram in the first round, and then Clemson cornerback Trayvon Mullen in the second. Later on, he brought in Houston cornerback Isaiah Johnson, who had to sit out most of his rookie season with an injury. In addition, Mayock spent big money on Los Angeles Rams defensive back Lamarcus Joyner.

In the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Mayock called on Ohio State’s Damon Arnette in the first round, a surprising selection at the time. Amik Robertson was drafted in the fourth round, and guys like Jeff Heath, Damarious Randall, and Prince Amukamara were brought in via free agency.

Overall, the Raiders got better at safety and cornerback, and here are three camp battles to keep an eye on within the Raiders secondary this summer.
