Las Vegas Raiders: 6 Free agents that could compete for starting jobs

Damon Harrison, DT, 31

Damon “Snacks” Harrison in his heyday was one of the premier run-stuffing defensive tackles in the game and at just 31-years-old, still has something left in the tank. Harrison has been a steady and consistent presence over his 8 year career and has been a dominant presence at both the NT and DT positions for the Jets, Giants, and Lions.

There were reports that he may be retiring this offseason but in June told SiriusXM NFL Radio that he is no rush to sign anywhere because he wants to make an informed decision and join a winning program. The Raiders have not done much winning lately but it is clear that the team is on an upward trajectory and he may be excited by the prospect of playing in Las Vegas.

The Raiders signed Maliek Collins to a one-year deal but there are questions about PJ Hall who started 12 games for the Silver and Black in 2019. The 2018 second rounder has struggled to make an impact and the Raiders could opt to bring in an objectively better but much older player in Harrison. Depth is key on the defensive line and yet another big body alongside Jonathan Hankins and Mo Hurst could make for a formidable DT rotation.
