Las Vegas Raiders: 5 challenges team could face in 2020

The injury bug

This is a staple challenge that goes for all 32 NFL teams every season, but it’s an obstacle Las Vegas will surely face and more importantly, have to endure this coming season. No team is truly healthy for the entirety of the regular season, all they can do is ensure that the depth on the roster is sufficient to withstand those injuries, should they occur.

For the Raiders, keeping an eye on the health of the offensive line and in their star running back Josh Jacobs will be a top priority once the season commences. Having a strong running game helps set the tempo and keeps defenses honest, and one only needs to look at last season for proof.

Jacobs was limited to just 13 games last season, and when healthy the Raiders’ offensive line is healthy, they are in contention for best in the league. That is the reason why Jalen Richard was brought back and Lynn Bowden Jr. was drafted: to keep Josh Jacobs fresh as the perfect complement to the line up front.

Injuries will happen, but Las Vegas has to be ready to adapt to them.
