Las Vegas Raiders: 5 challenges team could face in 2020

Number of miles traveled

Las Vegas’ schedule ranks among the top-five in team miles traveled as noted by CBS Sports. The Raiders weren’t thrown a curveball by the schedule makers like last season, but they weren’t given any favors in 2020 either.

At the end of the day, it’ll be up to Jon Gruden to prepare his roster just as well on the road as at home.

A key part of the schedule that could prove to be a challenge is the east coast trips, where the 1am EST / 10am PST tip-offs have proven to be an obstacle for the Silver and Black. The Patriots, Falcons, and Jets all face Las Vegas in those timeslots, and all three of those teams present a problem for the 2020 squad.

While one could argue that the Raiders have the advantage on paper, the time zone difference and namely the travel could be an x-factor in these matchups. It will be a challenge to overcome, but Gruden must get his players ready from start to finish.
