The Las Vegas Raiders have an opportunity to make some noise in 2020, but there could be obstacles along the way. Here are five challenges the Silver and Black could face in year one in Vegas.
A 7-9 record last season was proof that the Las Vegas Raiders were capable of exceeding expectations and facing the obstacles in their path. Dealing with an unforgiving schedule, and a revolving door of receivers, the Raiders were able to place themselves in contention for the AFC West crown.
This offseason, Mike Mayock addressed the defense heavily through free agency and got faster and more dynamic at the receiver position via the draft. All these moves should help Las Vegas close the gap between their division rivals, and hopefully make the playoffs for only the second time since the 2002 NFL season.
But as is evident each season, the challenges ahead never go away, they only seem to change. Bottom line is, the entire AFC West got better this offseason, including the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers, who, like the Raiders, will look to knock off the Kansas City Chiefs atop the AFC West.
In Year 1 in Vegas, the Raiders have a chance to make some noise, but they will have to overcome potential obstacles along the way. For the coming season to be a successful one, the Silver and Black must be on the lookout for these five challenges.
