After drafting Ohio State’s Damon Arnette in the first round in 2020, a recent mock has the Raiders adding another corner in the first round in 2021.

Cornerback has been an issue for the Raiders franchise for some time now, but they got a glimmer of hope last season in rookie Trayvon Mullen. The second round pick from Clemson stepped into the CB1 role in a big way, and moving forward, is a player they can build the position group around.

During the 2020 NFL Draft, the Raiders turned some heads when they selected Damon Arnette in the first round out of Ohio State. Not considered by many as a first rounder, Arnette does impress on tape, and the hope is that he can challenge with Prince Amukamara for a starting role with the Silver and Black as a rookie.

Still, there is a serious lack of depth at the position group, and it will be interesting to see how they attack the spot next offseason. Amik Robertson in the fourth round was a solid get, and he will challenge at the slot corner position this year, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

While we wait to see what the 2020 NFL season will look like, it is never too early to take a look at what the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft may look like. Bleacher Report recently released their latest mock draft, and the Raiders once again added a cornerback in the first round.
