The Las Vegas Raiders finally have a legitimate backup quarterback, and Marcus Mariota and Derek Carr will be getting paid in 2020.

Heading into the 2020 offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders stated that they would be improving every position group. They did just that when they added Marcus Mariota, a former No. 2 overall pick who once led the Tennessee Titans to an overtime victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs.

With Derek Carr returning for his seventh season at the helm, and his third under Jon Gruden, he is the unquestioned leader of this team. However, having a guy like Mariota behind him is going to push him, which is only going to make him better from week to week.

For Raiders fans, having a legitimate backup is huge, as Carr has not really been pushed since earning the starting quarterback job as a rookie. This offseason, the organization not only brought in Mariota to push Carr, but also revamped the wide receiver room, and brought back his entire offensive lines, as they stayed true to the narrative that they would be building around him.

With talent at QB1 and QB2 comes the paychecks that must be handed out, and the Raiders duo will earn a ton of money during the 2020 NFL season.
