Heading into their first season in Las Vegas, the Raiders franchise have over 40 contracts that could come off the books in 2021.

Since taking over as general manager on New Years eve in 2018, Mike Mayock has done a great job building this roster up the right way. He has brought in guys on team-friendly contracts, dominated all rounds of the NFL Draft, and teamed well with Jon Gruden in terms of personnel decisions.

However, as the team heads to Vegas for their first season in Sin City, the roster is loaded with guys who will see their contract expire after this campaign.

According to spotrac, the Raiders will have over 40 players entering free agency after the 2020 NFL season, meaning the roster could look very different heading into Year 2 in Vegas. The list of players is long, but does not include any high-priced talent, with Johnathan Hankins the biggest cap hit at only $4.25 million.

Having this many players entering the final year of their deal is great for the Raiders on many levels, as guys will be playing for new contracts. Whether it is with the franchise, or latching on with another team, some are going to be looking to get paid, and that is a positive for the 2020 club.

Here are some thoughts on the pending free agents.
