One and Done?
Mayock has done a great job bringing in guys on short contracts, making them prove their worth on the field. The 2020 season will be no different, as there are a ton of guys brought in on one-year deals, including some players who are going to play key roles on both sides of the ball for the Raiders this Fall.
Guys like Damarious Randall and Prince Amukamara will be expected to start in the Raiders secondary, and Nelson Agholor and Jason Witten will be a big part of the team’s passing game. These four guys are crucial to the Raiders taking another step forward in 2020, but the good thing is, they have younger players behind them who can step in and take a job if it does not work out.
Overall, the Raiders are in a good spot with this many pending free agents, because they know they are going to get the best out of every player who steps onto the field. A while back, Gruden stated that players were dying to play for the Raiders, and for these 40, they will get a chance to prove their worth and stick around.
