2020 Las Vegas Raiders 53-man roster projection entering training camp

Cornerback (6): Trayvon Mullen, Prince Amukamara, Damon Arnette, Isaiah Johnson, Lamarcus Joyner, Amik Robertson

The cornerback position for the Raiders is relatively set at the top of the depth chart. We can expect Trayvon Mullen and Prince Amukamara to start at outside corner with Lamarcus Joyner expected to man the slot corner role.

Beyond that, there are several questions, but mostly good ones, about what the roles of rookies Damon Arnette and Amik Robertson will be on the defense. Robertson projects as a slot corner in the NFL due to his smaller stature, and the coaching staff sees Arnette as the long term starter opposite Mullen, but Amukamara will bridge that gap.

There will be a number of other corners vying for roster spots including Keisean Nixon, Nevin Lawson, Madre Harper, Ken Crawley, and Dylan Mabin, but there may just be too many bodies and not enough room on the roster. Harper and Mabin will likely find themselves on the practice squad, and the team may opt for Lawson’s experience over Johnson’s potential.

There is always a great deal of turnover at the cornerback position, and with how wide open the game is these days, depth is a must and the Raiders may finally have some at the position.
