2020 Las Vegas Raiders 53-man roster projection entering training camp
Defensive End (4): Clelin Ferrell, Carl Nassib, Maxx Crosby, Arden Key
Maxx Crosby is the star of this group after a stellar rookie season where he made a strong case for the Defensive Rookie of the Year, but was beat to it by Nick Bosa thanks to his team’s success. Crosby was a destructive force against both the pass and run, and there will be a lot of expectations on him in his sophomore season.
Clelin Ferrell slid under the radar thanks to Crosby’s monster season, but there will be a great deal of expectations for the former top-five pick. He had an average rookie season but has worked on his body this offseason and has the confidence to come in and make a difference.
Carl Nassib is the big free agent addition for this position group, and he will be expected to do more in Las Vegas than he has been asked to do in Tampa Bay or Cleveland. Nassib is a solid defensive end with above average pass rushing skills and he should push Ferrell and Crosby to work even harder than they already have been.
Arden Key is the last name on this list, and he may not be a Raider for long if he can’t finally live up to his potential coming out of LSU. Key may just end up being a situational pass rusher, but if the Raiders can sign one of the many veteran defensive ends on the market, he could be on the hunt for a new team soon.
