College Career

You would be hard pressed to find a more decorated player than Tanner Muse after his career at Clemson. Muse was on two national championship teams in 2016 and 2019 and had a chance to end his career with a third title but the Tigers fell short against a powerhouse LSU squad.

Muse started his time at Clemson as a reserve safety and played in just 8 games but still managed to score a pick-six against Syracuse. From his sophomore year on, Muse became a full-time starter at safety and was an impact player all over the field for the Tigers. Over three years as a starter, Muse recorded 104 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 14 passes defended, and a fantastic 7 INTs.

His contributions to the Tigers were noticed by award voters and he was named Third Team All-ACC in 2018, and First-Team All-ACC and Third Team AP All-American in 2019. Muse was listed as a safety officially but also played linebacker and he will be asked to switch full-time to linebacker with the Raiders.

He is another mature player that can eventually bring some leadership to the Raiders locker room and has experience doing so as a captain at Clemson.
