It was a big day for the Las Vegas Raiders 2020 signing class on Saturday, as multiple guys put pen to paper ahead of training camp.

With the Las Vegas Raiders 2020 training camp scheduled to kick off in a few days, it was imperative that the current rookie class sign their rookie deals. Up until Saturday, only No. 12 overall pick Henry Ruggs III had put pen to paper, but all of that changed throughout the rest of the day.

Fellow 2020 first round pick Damon Arnette, third rounders Bryan Edwards and Tanner Muse, and fourth rounder all signed before 12pm PT, leaving only Lynn Bowden Jr. and John Simpson yet to ink their deals. With camp starting on Tuesday, the expectation is both Bowden and Simpson will be ready to roll by then.

In fact, Bowden tweeted this out on Saturday, so it is likely his contract will be done this afternoon as well.

The Raiders 2019 draft class was a special group, highlighted by running back Josh Jacobs and defensive end Maxx Crosby, two guys who were in the running to win Offensive or Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. Jacobs was the favorite, and it was shocking when Kyler Murray won, while Crosby actually put up better numbers then winner Nick Bosa.

As was the case in 2019, the Raiders had multiple first round picks, and they are both under contract with Arnette’s signing. It will be hard for this class to duplicate what the 2019 class did, but one thing is for sure, Mike Mayock knows his way around a draft board, and a guy like Robertson could be another fourth round steal, as Crosby was last year.

Next. Lowered salary cap would affect Las Vegas Raiders in a big way in 2021. dark

Coming off a seven-win season in 2019, one that saw the team squander a 6-4 start,  the expectation is the Raiders are going to be a playof team in 2020. In order for that to happen, this rookie class has to step up, because if they can come close to having the same kind of production as guys like Jacobs, Crosby, and Hunter Renfrow to name a few had last season, this franchise is in great shape moving forward.
