Las Vegas Raiders 2020 Rookie Roles: Wide Receiver Bryan Edwards

The Las Vegas Raiders added a talented wideout in the third round in Bryan Edwards, who left South Carolina as the all-time leading receiver.

The Las Vegas Raiders have a chance to make their receiving corps a strength in 2020, and its a result of the added depth they have thanks to additions like rookie Bryan Edwards. Edwards was one of two draft picks at the position group this past April, as the team looks to make more of an impact throwing downfield.

A season ago the Raiders leading pass catcher was Darren Waller (71.6 ypg), followed by Hunter Renfrow, Tyrell Williams (46 ypg each), and Jalen Richard (20.2 ypg). While Waller may be a matchup threat, essentially being a receiver at the tight end position, Jon Gruden wants to see increased production out of the other wideouts on the roster.

Fast forward to 2020, and the receiving corps could prove to be a strength for Las Vegas thanks to the added depth at the position, and its additions like rookie Bryan Edwards that can help make that goal come to fruition. The third-round pick out of South Carolina has the size to give the Raiders another threat outside.

Las Vegas wants to have a balanced attack on offense, and doing so requires the capability to throw the ball downfield.
