2020 NFL Draft

The Raiders wasted no time getting weapons in the 2020 NFL Draft, using their first of two first round draft picks on Alabama speedster Henry Ruggs III. This is a kid who Al Davis would have loved, as he can beat any opponent deep, but is also adept at running the entire route tree, and will slide in at WR1.

A few rounds later, the Raiders brought in more talent at the wide receiver position in Bryan Edwards out of South Carolina. This kid is a physical specimen, and during his time with the Gamecocks, he set the school’s receiving yardage record. He can go up and make tough catches in the red zone, something the Raiders need after struggling in that capacity last season.

Lynn Bowden Jr. was also drafted in the third round, actually one pick before Edwards, and he is the kind of versatile playmaker that Jon Gruden is going to have a lot of fun with. Bowden will play running back, but that won’t be all he does, as he played wideout and quarterback during his time at Kentucky as well.
