Another Alabama star lands with the Raiders in latest mock draft
Raiders go Alabama in the second round as well
In the second round, Easterling likes Mayock and company to once again tap into a talented Alabama roster, bringing in offensive lineman Deonte Brown. During his time with the Crimson Tide, Brown has played on both sides of the line, and is considered one of the most underrated linemen in college football.
After playing left guard early in his career, Brown made the move to the right side in 2019, and enters 2020 as an anchor on a very good Crimson Tide offensive line. A towering presence at 6-foot-4 and 338 pounds, Brown could team with 2020 Clemson draftee John Simpson to be the team’s future at the guard positions.
Richie Incognito was signed to a two-year deal, and Gabe Jackson was brought back, so the veterans will definitely start in 2020. However, Brown and Simpson would be the ultimate long-term plan at the position group, as the Raiders continue to focus on being elite up front on both sides of the ball.
