The Las Vegas Raiders have a versatile weapon in Lynn Bowden Jr. and they plan to use him all over the field, including at quarterback.

The Las Vegas Raiders quest to find weapons for Derek Carr’s offense continued in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft when they selected WR/RB/QB Lynn Bowden Jr. out of the University of Kentucky. Bowden was a jack of all trades at Kentucky, as he played several positions for the Wildcats over his brilliant three-year career.

In Bowden’s freshman year he did not see the field much, but in his sophomore year he became the leading receiver on a Kentucky team that went 10-3 and shocked Penn State in the Citrus Bowl. The 2019 season was off to a similar start as he recorded 30 receptions and 348 yards in the first five games, but injuries at the quarterback position led to a position change for Bowden for the last eight games of the season, and he was an absolute revelation.

In those eight games, Bowden never attempted more than 15 passes and in several he had less than ten attempts, but he became one of the best running quarterbacks in the nation. He rushed for a total of 1,369 yards and 13 touchdowns while also throwing for three scores in that span.

Bowden led the Wildcats to an 8-5 record after a 2-3 start, including a thrilling 37-31 victory over Virginia Tech in the Belk Bowl. Bowden had announced himself on the big stage as one of the most exciting players in college football as well as one of the most versatile.
