5 most underrated Las Vegas Raiders heading into 2020

Tyrell Williams

The Las Vegas Raiders attacked the wide receiver position this offseason, adding Nelson Agholor via free agency, and then drafting Henry Ruggs III in the first round and Bryan Edwards in the third. Ruggs and Edwards have impressed in a big way since joining the organization, and Agholor is a former Super Bowl champ, so the position group as a whole has been upgraded.

Last season, Tyrell Williams was forced into the WR1 role after the Antonio Brown saga, and he played like a top-of-the-depth chart kind of guy early on. In fact, had he not gone down with Plantar fasciitis, he likely would have had a breakout year.

Entering this season, a lot of talk has surrounded Ruggs and Edwards, as they will be expected to contribute in a big way as rookies. In addition, Hunter Renfrow really came on towards the end of last season, proving to be automatic on third down.

This has led Williams to be a bit overlooked, but make no mistake, he is a legitimate threat at the wideout position, and will be a big part of the offense again in 2020. He will likely move to the WR2 role with Ruggs’ arrival, and is always a threat deep, so expect him to have his fair share of big plays and touchdowns.
