5 most underrated Las Vegas Raiders heading into 2020
Seventh-year starting quarterback Derek Carr is entering a crucial season for him in the Silver and Black, as the team brought in a ton of weapons for him on the offensive side of the ball. A big reason for his lack of wins over his career has been the fact he has had no consistency in terms of coaches, and the players around him change on a year basis.
So as he heads to Year 7, all eyes are on him, and he has recently stated that he is tired of getting disrespected. The only way Carr can silence the haters is to put more notches in the win column, because in terms of statistical production, he is one of the more consistent quarterbacks in the league.
Coming off back-to-back 4,000-yard seasons, as well as a season that saw him complete over 70 percent of his passes, you would think he would be regarded as one of the best in the game. Instead, his own fan base is split as to whether or not they feel he is a franchise quarterback, despite him re-writing the Raiders record book.
No matter what your feelings are in terms of Carr, if he has a big 2020 season, it will go a long way in setting this franchise up for the long haul. He is still only 29-years old, has shown he can play at an MVP level, and if the Raiders can win double-digit games, and possibly make a run in the playoffs, all doubts about his ability to win at this level will be erased.
