Raiders: Will Derek Carr really have the best season of his career?

Upgrades via Free Agency

The Raiders made sure no stone was left unturned in the receiver department this offseason, adding talent via the 2020 NFL Draft, and free agency. The team started off their free agency period by signing Nelson Agholor, the former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver who has shown flashes of brilliance at times.

He had a spectacular showing in Super Bowl LII, where he led the Eagles with 84 receiving yards in their win against the New England Patriots. However, he does have the tendency to drop the ball on more than one occasion, so if he can fix that issue, he should add some much needed depth for Carr and the offense.

Also added was tight end Jason Witten, a future Hall of Famer. Sure Witten may not be the player he once was given his age, but he is still more than solid, a great blocking tight end, and adds another dimension to the offense next to Waller.

He should definitely pay huge dividends in red zone situations as well, a place the Raiders struggled to capitalize in last season.
